Reward Card FAQ...

What is the $100 Reward Card?
The $100 Reward Card is a $100 prepaid Visa® debit card. Purchases on the debit card are deducted from the card's available balance. You can use the $100 Reward Card anywhere that accepts Visa® debit cards. There is no need to apply for this card as you would a credit card.
What do I have to do to get the $100 Reward Card?
Start by using Rent.com to find your new home! If you find a property that features the $100 Reward Card, it helps to tell the leasing office that you found the property on "Rent.com" when you visit. After you lease, just report your lease on the Rent.com website. For more details, please read the complete $100 Reward Card Policy.
Why do some properties feature the reward card while others don't?
Some properties featured on our site pay us a fee only when their Rent.com advertisement results in a lease. When a renter reports their lease at one of those properties to us, we know to contact that property to collect our advertising fee. So for those properties, we reward renters for telling us about their lease by offering a $100 prepaid Visa® debit card!
How do I submit my claim for the $100 Reward Card?
To claim your $100 Reward Card, simply fill out our lease report form. You can access this form by clicking one of the links throughout our website that say things like "Claim $100 Reward Card." You can also report your lease by calling 866.432.RENT (7368). For more details, please read our complete $100 Reward Card Policy.
When should I submit my claim for the $100 Reward Card?
You must submit your lease report form within 60 days after moving to the property. However, if the property has been terminated from Rent.com, you must submit your lease report form within 30 days after the property's termination. You can also submit your lease report form prior to moving in.
When can I expect to receive the $100 Reward Card?
Confirming your lease and processing the reward card usually takes 8-10 weeks from your move-in date or the day you report your lease, whichever is later.
Do I have to spend the $100 all in one place?
No. You can use the Reward Card as many times as you wish until you reach the $100 limit or your card expires (whichever comes first). For instance, if you use the card to make a $25 purchase, your reward card will still have an available balance of $75. You can always check your available balance by going to https://www.onlinecardaccess.com/rentcom and reviewing the history of your transactions.
How is the reward card different from a credit card?
A credit card provides you with a line of credit, which you have to pay back. With the reward card, there is no line of credit and no bill to pay. You simply use the reward card to make purchases until you reach the $100 limit or your card expires (whichever comes first).
How do I activate my reward card?
Your $100 Reward Card must be activated before use. To activate your reward card, please call 800.279.5412. When prompted, enter your Reward Card number and your 4-digit activation code. Why does my reward card say "debit" on it?
Regulations require us to print the word "debit" on the front of your reward card. However, in order to complete successful transactions, you must select the payment option of "credit" (not "debit") at the point of purchase.
How do I use my reward card at "self-swipe" merchant locations?
At certain merchant locations (such as grocery stores), the merchant may require that you swipe your reward card yourself. At these locations, make sure you choose "credit" as the payment option. Can I use my reward card at an ATM?
No, your reward card will not work at ATMs.
Can I use my reward card to buy gas?
Yes! However, you will have to go inside to the register to pay with your reward card. Unfortunately, the reward card cannot be used to "pay at the pump."
Can I use my reward card at a restaurant?
Yes. However, you should be aware that it is common practice for the credit processors at restaurants to temporarily authorize an amount on your card that totals 20% more than the bill you receive (in order to reserve an amount that includes an anticipated gratuity) until your final signed receipt can be processed. For example, you may have a restaurant bill for $25. When they swipe your card, $30 will be temporarily authorized until your signed receipt for $28.75 is processed. It can take up to a week for the temporary authorization to be adjusted to reflect your final receipt. Please be sure to account for this practice before using your reward card at a restaurant.
Can I shop online using my reward card?
Yes. When you "check out" at an online merchant, select "Visa" as your credit card type and then provide your reward card number and the expiration date. If the merchant asks for your billing address, enter the address where your card was originally sent (however, if you have contacted customer service to change your address, use your updated address). If the merchant asks for a 3-digit security code, you can find it on the back of your card—it is the last three digits printed in the signature panel.
Can I spend more than my available balance?
No. You will not be able to spend more than your available balance. If you attempt to do so, the merchant will decline your transaction.
What if the amount of my purchase is more than my available balance?
In this case, your transaction will be declined.
How do I know how much money I have left on my reward card?
You can check your available balance by going to https://www.onlinecardaccess.com/rentcom and reviewing the history of your transactions.
Does my reward card ever expire?
Yes. You can find the expiration date on the front of your reward card.
What do I do with the reward card when the balance reaches zero or the reward card expires?
In either case, the reward card may no longer be used. Simply destroy the card.
What if I forget my activation code?
Following our confirmation of your lease report, we will send the activation code to you via email. You'll need your activation code to activate your reward card, inquire about your card balance and previous transactions, request a replacement card, etc. If you've forgotten your activation code, click here and we'll email it to you.
Why would my reward card be cancelled?
We may cancel a reward card if we discover that any of the requirements outlined in our $100 Reward Card Policy have not been satisfied. For example, if Rent.com is informed that a reward card recipient did not fulfill the terms of their new lease for at least 30 days, that renter forfeits the reward and we will cancel the $100 Reward Card.
